BG2 was the best RPG I'd ever played until Dragon Age Origins showed up, and many people, especially those who like Dungeons and Dragons, will still like BG2 better. The story is phenomenal and the characters are diverse and fascinating. The graphics are antique but beautiful. The interface is dated and somewhat clumsy but it's still an extremely immersing and enjoyable experience.
I can only rate this from a 3rd person point of view as I got it for someone as a gift. Judging from his frequent play I can only assume that this game must be fun.
Not much to say, bought this game out of nostalgia. Not as good as I remembered, but by all means is not a bad purchase. AJG
A friend reported not being able to finish the game because of a software problem, and sometimes the game does not save properly for me. Without a doubt, one of the best RPGs of all time. Make sure you have over 150 hours of your life to devote to it, if you plan on finishing it.The characters are memorable, the voice acting is great, and the myriad of different paths one can take is almost inconceivable, close to overwhelming.Even without having played BGI, I was able to enjoy the sequel. My only complaints are that there are a few bugs. The second complaint is that there are SO many disks to keep track of.A great game, and a must for anyone who considers themselves a fan of RPGs. Every hamster has his day.
unbelievably great game. this has to be the best RPG ever made. the graphics are somewhat dated now since it is sprites rather than 3D, but the story and free form nature of the plots and subquests more than make up for it. plus the internet community is absolutely great.I cannot recommend this game highly enough.
